Our staff are the lifeblood of our organization and supporting them is of utmost importance to us. We have several ongoing programs to assist them to develop and grow.
LEADERSHIP & KNOWLEDGE WORKSHOPS
As an organization, we continue to focus on developing our staff’s industry knowledge.
Every year our staff participate in SAQA accredited learnerships. These are now in their third year and we are excited to report that our staff continues to achieve a 100% success rate. We can see the positive results the learnerships are having and plan to expand the programme to create even more training opportunities.
As part of our capacity-building strategy, in addition to our learnerships, we regularly run knowledge workshops. These workshops are presented by learners who successfully completed a learnership. This allows them to pass on their newly acquired knowledge to our junior staff and further cement what they have learned.
We will continue to enrol new learners annually to ensure continuous development.
SKILLS TRAINING
We schedule regular skills training interventions for our staff. Agristar has two SAQA accredited trainers and an assessor who ensure our staff receive ongoing recognized training.
THE INTERVENTIONS INCLUDE:
To ensure we always remain compliant with all applicable laws and accreditations, our staff have access to skills development throughout the year.
EMPLOYEE WELLNESS
In partnership with a corporate health network, our team has access to private healthcare and Psycho-social support. With the high prevalence of HIV & Aids, TB, substance abuse and high levels of crime in South Africa, it is our duty to support our employees and ensure they have appropriate access to proper care and support.
Furthermore, staff and their families can access a 24/7 psycho-social hotline. With assistance with family planning, stress, depression, and legal advice, we know our team’s physical and mental health needs are taken care of.
